The Galbraith Stirling Bull Sales this October boasts a strong line up with 339 pedigree bulls entered alongside over 250 females many with calves at foot, including three herd dispersals.
Scotland’s leading livestock auctioneers, United Auctions, will be holding a full programme over the two-day event showcasing six pedigree breeds on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th October at Stirling Agricultural Centre.
“The quality is outstanding,” commented John Roberts, Executive Chairman of United Auctions. “Prices are excellent for all beef cattle at the moment and buyers of bulls are likely to be discerning which will make this an exciting couple of days. We anticipate the dispersals of the Logie, Crichton and Glenernan herds will also attract keen interest from buyers looking to strengthen their breeding programmes.”
Cattle will be shown on Sunday, which always attracts a large crowd, starting at 8.45am with Aberdeen-Angus females and bulls. The sale day on Monday opens with a show of Limousin bulls at 9am followed by the sales, commencing at 10am, across two rings. Charolais has the highest number of bull entries at 129, followed by a healthy number of entries also of Simmental, Aberdeen-Angus and Beef Shorthorn.
The Crichton herd of Beef Shorthorns from Farmstock Genetics will be dispersed on Monday morning, 27 lots including cows with calves and breeding females. This will be followed by the Logie herd of Aberdeen-Angus from AJR Farms, with 158 lots comprising cows, calves and breeding stock from this well-established herd.
